Introduction

Welcome to Babbler: AI Organizer ("Babbler," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Your privacy is important to us. This policy describes our commitment to protecting your personal information and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

1. Audio Recordings

  • What we collect: Voice recordings you create using the app's recording feature

  • How we use it: Audio files are uploaded to our backend and processed for transcription by third‑party AI services

  • Cloud storage: Recordings are stored in secure cloud storage under your account

  • Retention: Recordings are retained in cloud storage until you delete them from within the app (we do not automatically delete recordings after transcription)

  • Local storage: Original audio files may also be stored locally on your device until you choose to delete them

2. Transcription and Summary Data

  • What we collect: Text transcriptions of your audio recordings and structured summaries (todos, calendar events, research, shopping, and ideas) generated by our AI provider

  • How we use it: Transcriptions are generated by AI transcription services and then summarized by AI to organize content

  • Storage: Transcriptions and summaries are stored locally on your device. When available (e.g., you are signed in or using an anonymous session), we may also store them in our cloud database to support syncing and recovery

  • Retention: Transcriptions and summaries stored in the cloud are retained until you delete the associated recording/session

3. User Account Information

  • What we collect:

    • Apple Sign-In credentials (email, name)

    • Profile information (username, full name, avatar URL, website)

    • User ID and authentication tokens

  • How we use it: To provide account functionality and sync user preferences

  • Storage: Stored securely in our Supabase database

4. Device Information

  • What we collect:

    • Device identifiers and operating system information

    • App usage analytics and performance data

    • Error logs and crash reports

  • How we use it: To improve app functionality and user experience

5. Calendar and Reminder Integration Data

  • What we collect: Calendar events and reminders you create through the app

  • How we use it: To integrate with your device's Calendar and Reminders apps

  • Storage: This data is stored by your device's system apps, not by Babbler

Device Permissions

Our app requests the following permissions:

Required Permissions

  • Microphone Access: To record audio for transcription and organization

  • Calendar Access: To create calendar events from organized content

  • Reminders Access: To create reminders from organized content

How We Use Permissions

  • Microphone data is only used for transcription purposes

  • Calendar and reminder integrations only occur when you explicitly choose to create entries

  • We do not access existing calendar or reminder data

Third-Party Services

OpenAI Services

  • Purpose: Audio transcription and content organization

  • Data Shared: For transcription: the audio file. For summarization: the transcript text

  • Privacy Policy: OpenAI Privacy Policy

  • Data Retention: OpenAI may retain data for a limited period for abuse monitoring, after which it is deleted

Supabase

  • Purpose: Backend database and authentication services

  • Data Shared: User profile information and authentication data

  • Privacy Policy: Supabase Privacy Policy

  • Data Location: Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure

PostHog (Analytics)

  • Purpose: Product analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app

  • Data Shared: Event metadata (for example: title, duration, success/error status, transcription, summary output, etc.)

  • Identifiers: We may associate events with your account when available; otherwise events are anonymous

  • Deletion: When you request account deletion, we attempt to delete your analytics profile and events in PostHog

Apple Services

  • Purpose: Sign In authentication and system integrations (Calendar, Reminders)

  • Data Shared: Authentication tokens and integration data

RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

  • Purpose: Manage in-app subscriptions and entitlements

  • Data Shared: Anonymous app/user identifiers, purchase receipts, and entitlement status

External Links and Integrations

The app may open or integrate with external services. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

  • Audio recordings, transcriptions, and organized content are primarily stored locally on your device using secure local storage

  • Local data is encrypted and protected by your device's security features

  • You can delete local data at any time by removing sessions from the app

Cloud Storage

  • User profiles and authentication data are stored in secure cloud infrastructure

  • Audio recordings are stored in secure cloud storage under your account

  • Transcriptions and summaries may be stored in our database to support syncing

  • All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS

  • We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data

Data Retention

  • Audio recordings (cloud): Retained until you delete them from within the app

  • Transcriptions and summaries (cloud): Retained until you delete the associated recording/session

  • Analytics events: Retained by PostHog according to their retention settings

  • User account data: Retained until you delete your account

  • Local app data: Retained on your device until manually deleted

Anonymous Usage and Onboarding

  • During onboarding or when not signed in, we may create an anonymous session to enable uploads and processing. Content created under an anonymous session may not be linkable to a later account. Contact support if you need assistance deleting anonymous data

Your Rights and Choices

Data Access and Control

  • View Data: Access all your stored sessions and profile information within the app

  • Delete Data: Remove individual sessions or delete your entire account

Account Deletion

  • You can delete your account and associated data at any time from the app or by contacting support

  • When you delete your account, we delete your authentication record and user profile, and we attempt to delete your analytics profile and events in PostHog

  • Please delete your recordings/sessions in the app before account deletion to ensure their removal from cloud storage. If any recordings remain, contact support and we will assist

  • Local data on your device will remain until you delete it manually

Marketing Communications

  • We do not currently send marketing communications

  • Any future communications will include clear opt-out mechanisms

Children's Privacy

Babbler is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app

  • Sending you an email notification (if you have provided an email address)

  • Displaying a prominent notice in the app

Your continued use of the app after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information depends on the data and context:

  • Performance of Contract: Processing necessary to provide our services

  • Legitimate Interests: Improving our services and preventing fraud

  • Consent: Where you have given explicit consent for specific uses
